Display NOTCH, a trend that is hitting big tigers of Android. The hype becomes the trend when Asus Zenfone 5 copied iPhone X’s display top notch at MWC 2018. Our top PICKS
When you first pick a Huawei P20, you’ll notice it by seeing the glass coated on both sides of the phone. But many more companies have already made this glass-metal sandwich type phone, then where the P20 differs? It differs from the color and quality of that glass. From the paint job to the gradient look, the color made this phone separate from others. The glass tends to bend on the edge and like other glass backed phones. So it is also slippery. This phone is also rated as IP53, so it is dust and splash proof. A front-mounted fingerprint scanner is placed under the gorgeous display. Fingerprint scanner stays always on along with some navigation gestures.
P20 will have 5 color variants. Gorgeous Twilight, full Black, Midnight blue, Pink Gold and Champagne Gold.
All about Camera.
Front facing 24MP has some Leica involvement to improve it quite a bit. The front snapper is an auto-focus camera with some different effects.
With a vertical camera orientation on the back, the scenario gets interesting here on the back camera. Probably the camera can compete with the Huawei Mate 10. Though the back cameras rise with a little bit of hump but its marginal. A 12MP and a 20MP Monochrome camera shine with f/1.6 aperture. Both cameras do have a big 1.55um pixels sensor. It’s a really welcome feature to have this amount of big aperture on both cameras. A dual tone LED flash will work for the low light or dark situation. OIS and AIS will help the camera to prevent the shakiness when doing video or low light photography. Camera AI feature that was introduced with the Huawei Mate 10 is also implemented here.
Not so much battery.
Unlike Xiaomi, Huawei P20 doesn’t come with a 4000 or more juice. It comes with a 3400 mAh battery and it’ll supercharge with a 22.5W adopter.
Huawei P20 offers a variable top-Notch. I called it variable because the user either can activate the notch or can hide it by default setting.
This phone has a smaller notch than the inventor iPhone X’s notch. Because the iPhone X had to put a lot of mechanism in the display notch in order to have the Face-ID functionality. But this phone doesn’t need to put all those mechanisms that’s why it got smaller and slimmer.
We can clearly see that Huawei is pushing their limits to make their P series best of the year. As a result, with the P20 Pro, the battle will get more competitive this year. Equipped with even more gorgeous OLED display, Water resistance, better number and quality camera, the Huawei P20 Pro obviously will get the bet to be the best. Finally, without any doubt, the P20 is the real hero here.
